Team play will be integral to how premier events for Aerodome will run. Below we will be going over some details about how we want to represent teams in Aerodome events and what it takes to become your own team.

Become a team

Live on Gamefound we have a reward tier that allows you and your team to become an Aerodome squadron. Not only will we, at Ephyrean Games, design a logo for you to use but we will also make a custom Organized Play kit for you to use in your home turf.

Represent

Aerodome, and Ephyrean games, will also have a series of their own teams for players to support. Each live event Ephyrean Games officially attends will feature a series of prizes based around one of their teams. From Chicago Apex to Minnesota Frost and we are just getting started!

Gen Con

This year at Gen con we will be featuring the Indianapolis Wasps. Sven Bergman “Indianapolis Wasps” card will be handed out to each player in the events as well as each purchase at our booth at 560.

As a race car driver himself, we chose Sven to represent the Wasps. The Wasp being the name of the car that won the first Indianapolis 500, we felt it fitting.

The player who wins the last round of Swiss also will win an Indianapolis Wasp Stadium game mat, “The Hive” (Additional copies of the mat will be available for sale).

Players will also be competing for a number of Indianapolis Wasp prizes as well. Top 8 in each event will receive a set of acrylic templates. The top four will fight for Indianapolis Wasp Metal Fighter Markers.

Events take place Friday (8/2) and Saturday (8/3) at 2pm.

Cost: $14

Future Team Events

While we are still working on the fine details, we are happy to pull back the curtain and share some of our plans. As we have stated, teams are an important part for competitive gameplay. We want to instill comradery to the highest level and have players band together.

Events will utilize an individually paired team tournament. This will allow any amount of players to participate for the team with rewards being based on the top four performances for each team.

Cup Championships

Our highest level of events will also use a form of Relegation and Promotion, improving and placing players based on their records throughout the championship. Right now, we are playing around with the idea that after each set of 4 games, the event will organize players into 4 different cup tiers based on their records, promoting the players with the highest records to a higher tier and demoting players down on their luck, but there is a chance to stay in the fight. Finals will comprise the top players from each cup tier into their own cup bracket, giving players in each cup tier a chance to win grand prizes. Each Cup Championships will essentially have a champion for each of the four cups.

We want to focus on the experience for every player. We want players to get a full experience at our Cup championships and want to explore unique and new ways to do so. We look forward to sharing more in the future.

Wing Well,

Wade Piche
