What’s the buzz at Gen Con!
GenCon invites us to battle it out! This is our second year returning and we are BUZZING!
What is there to do?
Ephyrean Games will have a booth in the main exhibit hall located at BOOTH 560. There we will have Aerodome available for sale plus exclusive looks at our next game Super Dice Battle and Tales of Pilsna: A Drink to the Past.
Aerodome will also be hosting three separate 16 player competitive events on Thursday (August 1st), Friday (August 2nd) and Saturday (August 3rd) each starting at 2pm EDT. Tickets can be found here!
What is the Format?
Each event will feature 3 swiss rounds followed by a cut to a top 4 elimination round. The players who lose in the first elimination round will play a second round to determine third and fourth place. Each round will be 45 minutes and feature one match.
What do I bring?
Players are required to bring their lists for their pilot plus a set of their own Auxiliary cards (any Stadium set plus 3 additional cards) plus any components needed to play the game.
How will Auxiliary be placed?
Auxiliary is placed based on the Event Stadium rules which are as follows: Two Auxiliary boxes will be placed Range 2 from the edge of the center of the Arena. After a player has completed a maneuver that overlaps an auxiliary token with either their maneuver tool or fighter marker, they remove the Auxiliary token and draw an Auxiliary card. At the end of each round, if an Auxiliary token has been removed and there are no Fighter markers at that Auxiliary tokens original placement, place an Auxiliary token (See mat for example).
What is the Indianapolis Wasps?
The Indianapolis Wasps is a fictional sports team designed for Aerodome events in Indiana. Players can represent and remember this event based around the team. Named after the first car that won the Indianapolis 500, the Wasps represent Indiana’s cherished racetrack which was once owned by America’s top WWI ace (and major inspiration for Aerodome’s own, Theodosia Costello), Eddie Rickenbacker.
What are you playing for?
Participants in the events will receive a Indianapolis Wasps promo card
Top 8 players will receive a set of Indianapolis Wasps Maneuver and Shot tools
Top 4 players will receive a Metal Fighter marker based on the placement of the Elimination round
Winners of the third round of swiss will get to keep the Indianapolis Stadium mat for their own Indianapolis home field advantage at The Hive!
