Pilot Spotlight - The Dragonslayer

Captain Theodosia Costello is a pilot from the Ace world. She leads the Knight’s of the Round Table squadron as Knight 1. Theodosia is one of the most daring and risky pilots in the Ace world, often using terrain and momentum to propel herself into superior positions.

[Theodosia received her callsign during the Battle of Rose Hill after shooting down a pilot that dubbed themselves the Great Dragon of the North]

Theodosia’s ability:

After you complete an Immelmann Maneuver action:

Assign an Elusive token to your Fighter marker.

Elusive tokens are handy resources in Aerodome for they are the only way players have a chance to avoid damage by completing a type of “dodge” roll by rolling a die for each successful result from an attack. For each 5 or more from this roll, Theodosia will avoid suffering one damage.

Theodosia’s signature card is called “Be the Leaf (RH1073)” This card is slow in the initiative but does open up a lot of potential Immelmann actions for Theo. If she decides to assign a dazed token to this card, she can perform the Immelmann using the back point, pretty much allowing her to move backwards. This would even reward Theodosia with an elusive token but also more importantly, get her in an advantageous position on her opponent.

Other cards that work well with Theodosia:

Some cards in the Daredevil pool will have what seems like random maneuvers for them to perform, but really the Daredevil archetype is designed to reward players with different possibilities a little more frequently than other archetypes. Theodosia’s ability will play best if more of her cards that aren’t an Immelmann action, allow her to perform an Immelmann Maneuver action. In most cases I try to find ways to include cards like Eluding Maneuvers (RH1082) or Eluding Maneuvers (RH1096) into her Maneuver Hand to allow for optimal chances to regain that Elusive token.
