Hello,

We have a lot of updates today!

My name is Wade Piche, the designer of Aerodome. Today I wanted to open up to the community about updates to the latest game found as well as some things I have been processing as we prepare things such as new expansions, tournament rules and organized play kits. I want one of the main philosophies for Ephyrean Games to be open and honest communication, and with that I want to discuss some new topics.

Gamefound Updates

Teams will be notified later this month with information for their names and logos. So start jotting down ideas, anything to help will be great. Keep in mind we must be respectful to existing IPs and some ideas may get turned down, but I want you to have your fun.

We have remade each card to implement some consistency, test new ideas and more! The new files for these cards and new prebuilt decks will be released very shortly to be used on the list builder and the tts.

Testing will continue until the end of the year.

We are working on new ways to get players into Aerodome with this Gamefound by also developing a new/smaller starter set plus releasing fighter packs that include a full pilot for players to play. These will be released later this year but use previously released cards and an updated mini rulebook.

We are working on retooling the D-22 miniature to better fit the miniature space while still holding onto its details. This will take some time so please be patient. My hope is to have it done by the end of the year.

Lastly, I wanted to share an exciting piece of information. We are moving production for Aerodome to the United States. We are hoping this will open the door to doing more expansions with a faster and more structured turn around time (I.E. we can have product potentially submitted and shipped to you in a matter of weeks instead of months or quarters). As a competitive game, we want to be able to keep the competitive nature of the game active and hope that with more timed releases we can increase interest to new players.

NEW HORIZONS (Ver 1.1)

It has been close to a year since players first started getting their hands on the game, and with that we have been learning and hearing more and more feedback. Players across the world have commented on how much they enjoy the game, but I have noticed a number of people who are unfamiliar with the project have a hard time with various aspects of the game. So with that we have been working on a 1.1 update to create more ways to play as well as simplify and clarify some things.

Updated Ways to Play

One of the ways I want to help grow our community further is to introduce varying levels of the game for players. A players first few games will always be some of the longest they play as they learn the rules. I want to introduce new players to a faster form of game with more streamlined rules for set up. My goal for Aerodome has always been to be able to adapt and create a system that can keep the rules updated and easy to play, but also shuffle up the way to play.

When we are ready to release the 1.1 rulebook, a free to print copy will be on the website, an updated version of it will be released in a future project and free copies will be sent through the webstore.

Welcome to the next stage of Aerodome, the NEW HORIZON. Players can challenge others to fit their playstyle and time with new Match Types. We are also introducing new debuff and auxiliary rules.

Choose a Match Type:

Match Types

Quick Play: Fighters each have 5 Hit Points - Est time: 10-20 Minutes

Standard Play: Fighters each have 10 Hit Points - Est time: 30-40 Minutes

Competitive Play: Fighters each have 15 Hit Points - Est time: 40-50 Minutes

Debuff debuff

We are now limiting the amount of Debuffs that can be assigned to a fighter marker to 1 type of debuff (meaning a fighter marker cannot have both frozen and scorch). If another player would apply a new debuff token type to a player, they may choose to replace the existing token.

Auxiliary Redux

Auxiliary Decks

Set-up: Each player creates a deck of Five Auxiliary cards. When deciding your auxiliary deck, players must follow the same rules as Maneuver Hand building for card restrictions.

Players may then choose which format to play, Standard Match is a fast way to get started with a random chance to gain Auxiliary. Accelerated Match is a way to utilize auxiliary boxes. Stadiums, such as the mountains, include their own way to play and can have effects and mandatory auxiliary cards to use and competitive will be used for the official Aerodome events.

Choose your way to play

Standard Match Auxiliary

During the game, At the end of a round a player has suffered damage from an attack action, both players may roll a d3. On a 3, that player may draw an Auxiliary card from their Auxiliary deck.

Accelerated Auxiliary

At the start of the game, after players deploy their fighter markers, players may place 4 auxiliary tokens on the mat, alternating placement. Each marker must be placed at least range 5 from a fighter marker and range 2 from the edge or another marker. The player with initiative begins placement. When a player picks up an auxiliary, they may place it at the end of the round with the same rules as placing above.

Stadium card Auxiliary

Players will still have access to new stadium cards. Each stadium will have a unique format for players to play with their own rules about gaining auxiliary, as well as other effects.

Competitive Match Auxiliary

A Competitive match will include two Auxiliary tokens Placed range 3 from the center line edge. During the game, at the start of a game round players replace the auxiliary token if it has been taken from a previous round at the same starting spot. If the Auxiliary token cannot be placed in this way, it is placed the following round.

The perfect way to set these tokens up is with a team mat, now available on our webstore!
